Metalsmith Magazine: Review of Under the Influence, by Susan Myers, Summer 2001, pg. 52 : 'Under the Influence, curated by Mia McEldowney, featured the work of seventeen contemporary Northwest jewelers juxtaposed with ethnographic objects from Northwest collections....Sarah Hood's pieces all relate to nature, a common theme in the art of diverse cultures. Her Savannah, a necklace and bracelet made from live oak pods, is paired with a Hawaiian necklace constructed out of KuKui nuts. Without a label describing the geographic source of the nuts and seeds, it would be difficult to discern which work was Hood's and which was the ethnographic object.' --Susan Myers
